Carlisle Local Schools Renewal Levy
Carlisle Local Schools Renewal Levy
* The Carlisle Local Schools Board of Education voted at their January 23 meeting to place a renewal levy on the May 2 ballot.
* The levy, an emergency operating levy, was initially passed by the voters in May 2013 and was then renewed in May 2018. The levy will remain in place for 5 years and generate the same amount of money for each of those five years.
* The emergency renewal will not increase taxes and will generate the same amount of money for the school for operating expenses as it did when originally passed. The renewal of the emergency levy will generate $993,222 of funds for the school district.
*When passed, it will go into effect on January 1, 2024 and will not need to be renewed again until May 2028.
*The new levy will be asking for the approval of 4.41 mills, down from the current 5.9 mills. The decrease in millage reflects the recent re-evaluation of property values done by the Warren County Auditor's office. The levy will cost a property owner about $154 per $100,000 of valuation.
If anyone has any questions regarding the levy, please contact either Dr. David Vail, Superintendent, or Mr. Dan Bassler, Treasurer, at (937) 746 - 0710
