Every year at Chamberlain Middle School, principal Dan Turner gives a short overview of some of the events of the day and then allows for a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives that day. In Mr. Sprandel's 7th grade social studies class he teaches the students about the historical events of the day but goes into depth about how the nation has changed and grown. He spends a great deal of time talking about how this tragic day has turned into a day of Remembrance and Service. Mr. Sprandel has his students draw and design posters for both the police and fire departments of Carlisle. Mrs. Branson had the CMS student council write thank you cards for the officers and brought in cookies as well. Two of the local police officers were able to come in during lunch to receive the posters, cards and cookies from the students.
