Carlisle Schools annual food drive

The Carlisle High School Football Team were hard at work on Saturday, December 17th distributing the foods that were collected during Carlisle Schools annual food drive.

The Carlisle Local Schools and the Carlisle Lion's Club teamed up again for our annual Food Drive.  Foods were donated in each school building to help families in need in Carlisle and other area families.

The Lion's club purchases parishables (milk, turkey, bacon, eggs, bread, etc.) and along with the food donations from the school, provided over 50 Carlisle families with food for the Christmas holiday.  The food drive also helps to keep our "Blessings in a Bag" project going full strength, which provides weekend food for Carlisle School children in need.

Any foods that remain after the Lion's Club and Blessings in a Bag needs are met are donated to the Franklin Food Pantry, which benefits those in need in the Carlisle and Franklin communities.
