Welcome to a New School Year!
A Message from Principal Jennifer Dearwester
Dear Carlisle Families and Community,
It is with incredible joy and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the upcoming school year! While I am stepping into a new role as your Pre-K through 3rd Grade Principal, my heart has long been rooted right here in Carlisle. For the past eight years, I have had the absolute privilege of serving this wonderful community as your Intermediate Principal. Transitioning to our youngest learners marks an exciting new chapter for me, and I am deeply honored to continue partnering with you in our students’ educational journeys.
This year marks my 29th year in education, a milestone that fills me with profound gratitude. Over nearly three decades, my passion for nurturing young minds has only grown stronger. There is truly nowhere else I would rather celebrate this milestone than here in Carlisle, Ohio. This community holds a very special place in my heart; the unwavering support, the small-town warmth, and the shared dedication to our children’s futures make Carlisle a truly unique and remarkable place to live, work, and learn.
Focusing on the Foundation:
Early Literacy The primary grades represent a magical and crucial window in a child's development. Research consistently shows that the foundational years from Preschool through 3rd Grade shape a student’s entire academic trajectory. That is why our absolute priority will be early literacy. Learning to read is not just an academic skill; it is the master key that unlocks all future learning, critical thinking, and self-confidence.
Our dedicated staff is fully committed to implementing robust, research-based reading strategies that meet every child where they are. We want to foster not just the skill of reading, but a genuine, lifelong love for books and discovery. We know that the journey to literacy begins at home and flourishes when school and family work handin- hand. Together, we can build a strong foundation that ensures every single child leaves the third grade as a confident, fluent reader ready to take on the world.
My door is always open, and I look forward to connecting with familiar faces and welcoming our newest, youngest Indians to the building. Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Let’s make this an unforgettable, growth-filled, and joyful school year!
